AUTISM: THE GIFT IN THE CURSE
This is our flagship. A documentary about the realities of living with autism, right from the horse's mouth. Loveartpix recieved a very late diagnosis of autism, at 41 years old, after being potentially misdiagnosed bipolar at 20, and has since had CPTSD and ADHD diagnoses too.
We've followed Dez for almost 5 years, discovering how day-to-day life affects him, alongside the misunderstandings and stigma that can still surround autism.
The film avoids presenting autism as either a limitation or a superpower. Instead, it sits in the middle ground where real lives are lived, where the difficulties and the strengths are inseparable. Through honest conversations and moments of both frustration and joy, the documentary asks what it really means to be autistic today, and why society has got the support for neurodivergence so, so wrong.
